In Canada several supermarket chains just recently started charging 5 cents per plastic bag to pack your groceries. The charge may not be much but, have you noticed how many plastic bags are actually used at the check out?
Bring your own bags to the grocery store and if you forget them, put all of your groceries back in your shopping cart and load up your car. Avoid using those plastic bags or paper bags in the produce aisle. When buying fruits and vegetables from the produce aisle put them loose in the bag you bring. Store them in reusable containers when you get home.
