The Meal

This is a great vegetarian meal! I love all these dishes and you can have so much fun with the cheese plate. Be creative. Most importantly have fun! She will notice.

STARTER
Arugula Salad with Raw Mixed Nuts, Fresh Herbs, Onion, Tomato, Carrots and a Dijon Mustard and Garlic dressing.

Drink Champagne or Prosecco. Prosecco is Italian sparkling wine.

MAIN COURSE
Pleasurable Portobello Mushroom Steaks

Drink More Prosecco.

CHEESE COURSE
3 Cheeses. Cow's Milk, Goat's Milk, Sheep's Milk. Serve with strawberries, nuts and other condiments. READ THE FROTTAGE FROMAGE article to get a better idea on cheese plates.

SWEET
Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Drink even more Prosecco.

SET THE TABLE
Use an informal setting. Meaning napkin folded on the left side of the plate. The soup spoon is resting to the right of the napkin and the dinner fork is resting to the right of the soup spoon. (Napkin, soup spoon, fork, plate) The knife is on the right side of the plate, cutting edge towards the plate. The wine glass is by the upper right hand corner of the plate. Have a water glass to the right of the knife.

LIGHTING A single red rose floating on a bowl of water surrounded by tea lights on the table as a head piece is really romantic.
