Chocolate Butter Pecan Bar

The Tease
The chocolate butter pecan bar recipe has the bottom of a delicate butter cookie, a thin layer of chocolate, and then finished by topping with pecans.This recipe makes about 20-24 bars.

Time to make: Prep: 5m Cook: 30 Serves: 24 bars

• 1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter, softened

• 1 cup packed light brown sugar

• 1 egg yolk

• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

• 2 cups all-purpose flour

• 1/4 teaspoon salt

• 1 3/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

• 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans

• Large bowl

• 13x9 inch baking pan

• Baking spray

Preparation (Do it!)
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. With cooking spray, coat 13x9 inch baking pan; set aside.

3. In large bowl, stir together butter, brown sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla.

4. Blend in flour and salt.

5. Press mixture into prepared pan, bake 25-30 minutes until lightly browned.

6. Remove from oven; immediately sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over crust.

7. Let stand until softened, about 5 minutes; spread evenly with butter knife.

8. Sprinkle with pecans, cool completely before cutting into squares.
