Drunken Strawberries with Vanilla Ice Cream

These things are really amazing! It's one of the easiest and best desserts one can make. Add some shaved chocolate as a garnish.
TIME TO COOK
12 hours marinade time
10 minutes to prep and cook

• 1 lb of strawberries – hulled
• 1/3 cup of granulated sugar
• 1 cup of Chianti Classico Reserva
• Small lemon peel
• Small orange peel
• Scoop or two of vanilla ice cream

• A Medium bowl
• Medium saute pan
• A small bowl or cup
• Strainer
• Plastic wrap
• Measuring spoons and cup

1. Combine all ingredients except lemon and orange peel in a bowl and cover for 12 hours.
2. Drain strawberries, reserve the marinade and set the strawberries in a serving bowl.
3. Cook the marinade at a low heat, add lemon and orange peel until and cook until the liquid becomes syrupy, 5-10 minutes.
4. Remove and discard the citrus peels and let the wine cool in the refrigerator. Put strawberries over ice cream on a sponge cake and pour the syrup over.
