Usually, I avoid going to Casa Vega on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks, California because it’s too dark, it takes forever to get a table and the food is good, but not amazing. Recently, I discovered the secret to going to Casa Vega is during happy hour Monday-Friday from 2:30PM – 5:30PM. The place is pretty full, but you will get a table right away.
As I mentioned before the atmosphere could look lighter. It’s way too dark. I like seeing the food on my plate. However, décor aside, the house margaritas do the trick. They are not too strong, but after 3 or 4 I was content. For late lunch I sampled the carne asado enchiladas. They are not on the menu. They are the cheese enchiladas just substituted the cheese for the beef and they were very delicious. I can’t wait to go back again!
Casa Vega is only sexy during the off hours. For a late afternoon romp and snack, take your date to Casa Vega.
