Simply the sexiest tapas bar in the country. Situated in the Meat Packing district in Manhattan, this little gem of an eatery will be sure to please you and your date. It's small, romantic and not too pricey. Tapas are a great first date meal because it allows you to sample a variety of dishes, so you both get what you want. Everything from the bread on the table to the sangria was decent. My favorites included, Salmon Serrano (sliced cured country ham), Queso Manchego (Aged Spanish goat cheese), lmejas Marineras (Clams In a Tomato & Herbs Sauce), Setas Al Ajillo (variation of Mushrooms Sauteed in Garlic Sauce), Tournedo De Vaca "Al Chef" Fillet Mignon Chef Style, Chorizo Al Vino (sautéed Spanish Sausages in Wine), Bacalao a La Vizcaina Cod Fish "Basque Style" with a sweet red pepper.
Basically, I could eat the whole menu without having a bucket or a wafer thin mint. I am so hungry right now.
I always take my New York gals here for a good meal. You can't go wrong with El Cid.
