Not since discovering the "world famous" Monte Carlo deli on Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood, CA have I been so excited about a gourmet food shop. Voted best cheese shop in Toronto, you will not find any processed cheese slices here. You will find amazing products ranging from raw milk to artisan cheeses from around the world.

They also have one of the largest selections of gourmet imported food products from olive oils to fresh white and black truffles. You could spend hours in this shop looking at everything. They also have great produce, including a variety of wild mushrooms, prepared foods and baked goods for your dining pleasure. Outside of Dean and Deluca in NYC, this has to be the best gourmet food stores I have ever been to.

In addition, their chefs will guide you through the mazes of cheeses. However, check out this guide first, so you are not too intimidated with the selection process. This is a great place to get your passionate picnic on or your Friday night date night with cheese and wine.

"38 years ago Cheese Boutique was started as a humble mom and pop cornerstore on Bloor Street. For the last 8 years its new home has been in a former sausage factory on an industrial strip called Ripley Avenue off South Kingsway.

Cheese Boutique is not the sort of place you stumble across. You have to be sent there to find it. And you have to see it to believe it. With the cumulative knowledge of 3 generations, Cheese Boutique has augmented their offerings. Prosciutto hangs from the ceiling, truffles are flown in every Wednesday, foie gras sits under lock and key, beef is dry aged 60 days, olive oils from 80 different terroirs, jams made from green walnuts, the best artisanal breads of the city, the chocolate boutique, pastry temptations, daily hand picked produce, but it is for the cheese that one must really come here.

This is a place where best before dates do not apply. Taking something good and making it great is a constant philosophy of Cheese Boutique. Aging and curing everything from cheese to beef to Meyer lemons is done with the expert knowledge that only comes with years of experience. Patrons can get a glimpse of the process by visiting the unique Cheese Vault. After nearly 40 years of selling Toronto's finest gourmet selection, Cheese Boutique has been called many things. We are amused with melodrama in a food museum, where you can buy and take the art home." Cheese boutiquw website.
